Job Title - Safety Engineer

About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our Safety Engineering team at Leap29. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of Safety commissions and contributing to the success of our clients.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical input for project delivery, ensuring that all studies and projects are completed in compliance with agreed scope, budgets, and schedules.
  2. Contribute to the development of technical excellence, building on our tradition of delivering high-quality services to our clients.
  3. Project engineering to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  4. Conduct consultancy safety scopes for major hazard industries, with a focus on QRA, Formal Safety Assessments, COMAH, DSEAR, and other relevant safety techniques.
  5. Conduct consequence modelling using programs such as PHAST, to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  6. Author technical reports to a high standard, providing clear and concise information to clients.
  7. Participate in HAZID, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other risk assessment workshops, working collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  8. Develop strong relationships with clients, providing excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure successful project delivery.
Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Qualification/Certification: A degree in a relevant engineering subject is required, with working towards chartership with a relevant institution. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of technical safety principles and a passion for delivering high-quality services to clients.

  2. You will be a proactive team player with excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on delivering results to clients.
  4. Experience working in Process/Technical Safety, preferably in the Energy industry, with a strong understanding of risk and safety management principles.
  5. Strong understanding of QRA and other safety techniques, including consequence analysis, with proven experience in conducting such studies.
  6. Familiar with relevant legislation and industry standards, able to apply this knowledge and advise clients in relation to these.
  7. Ability to prepare technical reports to a high standard, with excellent time-management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  8. Experience of contributing to successful bids and proposals, with a track record of adding value through innovation.
  9. The ability to show initiative and work independently where appropriate, with a strong focus on delivering results to clients.
