Job Title - Safety Engineer

About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our Safety Engineering team at Leap29. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of Safety commissions and contributing to the success of our clients.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical input for project delivery, ensuring that studies and projects are delivered in compliance with agreed scope, budgets, and schedules.
  2. Contribute to the development of technical excellence, building on our tradition of delivering high-quality safety solutions.
  3. Conduct consultancy safety scopes, including QRA, Formal Safety Assessments, COMAH, DSEAR, and other relevant studies, for major hazard industries.
  4. Develop and implement consequence modelling using programs such as PHAST.
  5. Author technical reports to a high standard, ensuring that they are clear, concise, and meet the needs of our clients.
  6. Participate in HAZID, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other risk assessment workshops, providing expert input and guidance.
  7. Develop strong relationships with clients, providing excellent communication and presentation skills.
Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Qualification/Certification: A degree in a relevant engineering subject is required, with working towards chartership with a relevant institution. You will have sufficient experience to complete this within approximately one year.

  3. Highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent time-management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  4. Experience working in Process/Technical Safety, preferably in the Energy industry, with a strong understanding of risk and safety management.
  5. Familiar with relevant legislation and industry standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge and advise clients in relation to these.
  6. Ability to demonstrate excellent technical report writing skills and the ability to contribute to successful bids and proposals.
  7. Track record of adding value through innovation and the ability to show initiative and work independently where appropriate.
