About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team as a Dementia Care and Lifestyle Assistant at our luxury care and nursing home in Caversham. As a member of our supportive team, you will play a vital role in providing support, information, and guidance to individuals living with dementia.

As a Dementia Care and Lifestyle Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct care to residents, promoting their independence and well-being. This includes assisting residents with daily activities such as washing, dressing, eating, drinking, and mobility. You will also provide practical support to residents who require assistance with engaging in meaningful daily activities.

You will work closely with residents, their families, and other members of our team to develop strong relationships and support residents in making positive choices about their lives. This may involve encouraging residents to participate in activities that match their interests, promoting healthy eating habits, and supporting residents in maintaining good hygiene practices.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be respectful of residents' choices, dignity, and independence. You will also be responsible for developing residents' care plans, taking into account any specialist support needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to residents, promoting independence and well-being
  • Assist residents with daily activities, including washing, dressing, eating, drinking, and mobility
  • Support residents in engaging in meaningful daily activities
  • Develop strong relationships with residents, their families, and other members of the team
  • Support residents in making positive choices about their lives

Salary and Benefits:

  • £13.00 per hour
  • Alternate weekends required
  • Part-time or full-time positions available
  • Up to 30 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays (depending on length of service)
