Job Summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Specialist to join our Therapeutic Apheresis team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients undergoing apheresis procedures, including therapeutic apheresis and cell collection. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Main Duties
  • Perform therapeutic apheresis and cell collection procedures in paediatrics and adults.
  • Plan and deliver nursing care for patients undergoing apheresis procedures, including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
  • Provide safe and compassionate care, upholding the clinical standards of the service.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Develop and maintain effective written and verbal communication with key stakeholders to support patient-centred care and quality and safety.
  • Provide clinical support and supervision to less experienced staff and student nurses.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (RN1 or RNA).
  • Post-registration experience and a degree in a clinical area.
  • Valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
