Job Title: Senior Clinical Research Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Research Midwife to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Research Delivery Team, you will be responsible for contributing to the set-up of research studies, ensuring trial protocols are followed, and providing leadership and expertise to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to the set-up of research studies, including feasibility assessments and trial protocol development.
  2. Ensure trial protocols are followed, and trials are conducted according to national research legislation, Research Governance Framework, and Good Clinical Practice.
  3. Lead on and maintain expert research knowledge of a portfolio of trials, acting as a reference point for team members and providing guidance on trial protocols and procedures.
  4. Liaise with multidisciplinary team members to establish procedures for the safe set-up and smooth running of clinical trials.
  5. Act as a key worker for patients throughout their clinical trial experience, providing continuity of care and support.
  6. Ensure accurate study records are maintained, including records in nursing/medical paper and electronic notes, case report forms, and trial site files.
Requirements:
  • Midwifery degree with current NMC registration.
  • Substantial experience as a clinical midwife, with line management and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in clinical research, including knowledge of Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice.
