Lead DevOps Engineer

Head Resourcing is partnering with a leading retail bank to find a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their team in London.

This hybrid role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical work, coaching and mentoring peers, and tackling complex challenges.

As a team lead, you will guide and mentor engineers, setting an example through hands-on contributions in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers, guiding and mentoring them in DevOps and SRE.
  • Collaborate on building resilient, distributed systems on public cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Azure and GCP.
  • Drive architectural simplicity and operational excellence through automation and scaling cloud services.
  • Author and maintain Helm charts, leveraging Helmfile to manage deployments.
  • Expertise with CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps, Terraform, and ARM Templates, and solid experience in automating deployment processes.
  • Hands-on experience managing network layers (L3-L7), DNS, and public key infrastructure (PKI).
  • Proficiency in at least two programming or scripting languages, such as Python, Java, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus, and Git.
Requirements
  • A seasoned professional with a strong background in SRE or DevOps, able to provide in-depth mentorship and technical leadership.
  • Up to £118k depending on experience.
