About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heat Pumps Design Engineer to join our team at Thornhvac Ltd. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for providing internal technical support on customer projects, focusing primarily on domestic air source heat pumps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical support and guidance to customers on heat pump design and selection.
  • Assessing customer project requirements and providing recommendations for heat pump solutions.
  • Utilizing in-house selection software and performing heat load calculations to assist customers with the correct solution for their project.
  • Pulling together a full bill of materials, schematics, and information packs with a fully costed tender document for the sales team to pursue.
  • Providing technical support and advice at the pre-installation stage with contractors and/or end-user customers.
  • Supporting the team with occasional trade shows and customer visits to provide technical backup and support.
Requirements
  • A track record and understanding of working on air source heat pump products and the MCS regulations.
  • Current or previous positions may include Design Engineer, Applications Engineer, Pre-sales Engineer, Estimator, Internal Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer.
  • Self-motivated and able to work from home with full support from the team and managers.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal, and strong IT skills are required.
  • HNC/degree qualified in an engineering discipline is preferred but not essential.
What We Offer
  • A basic salary up to around c£42k, pending on background/experience.
  • A full benefits package, including pension and healthcare, plus 25 days holiday.

Location

Can be based anywhere within the UK. Fully remote/home based.
