Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and scientifically curious student to join our Epidemiology Department as a Graduate Research Assistant for 12 months. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in epidemiological research and activities conducted in a global pharmaceutical company, including state-of-the-art methods using artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML).

As a Graduate Research Assistant, you will work closely with local and international colleagues to learn to plan, design, and implement epidemiological studies and research activities, analyze and interpret data, and make data-driven decisions. Teamwork and communication are integral to our work, so you will be expected to actively participate in meetings on your projects and present your findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide epidemiology support for assigned projects, including literature reviews, study protocol development, data analysis, and result summarization.
  • Participate in AI/ML projects, such as scientific literature review activities, identification of fit-for-purpose real-world data sources, model design and validation, and co-authoring scientific publications.
  • Evaluate emerging real-world data sources to assess data quality for future projects.
Requirements:
  • You must currently be at university and will be looking to complete a 12-month student internship as part of your undergraduate degree.
  • Studying for an epidemiology, biomedical science, or computer science degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • Evidence of interest in healthcare sciences.
  • Prior experience with data analysis and programming (e.g., SAS, Python).
