Job Title

We are seeking a talented Business Director to lead our team in delivering exceptional payroll and pension services to the education sector.

As our Business Director, you will drive business growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and foster innovation by leading a dynamic team. Your strategic vision and operational expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Business Champion: Collaborate with senior leaders to create and implement strategies for profitable growth and client retention, manage the P&L, set budgets, and drive financial performance to meet targets.
  • People Leader: Build and nurture a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Develop the culture and structure to reflect our values, encourages openness and embraces change.
  • Customer Advocate: Ensure delivery of high-quality services, maintaining strong client relationships and enhancing our reputation through a client-first culture. Create solutions that meet the needs of customers.
  • Innovation Driver: Stay ahead of market trends, lead change initiatives, and spearhead innovative solutions to meet evolving client needs. Forge strong relationships with external providers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Quality Guardian: Uphold and improve service quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. Foster a continuous development mindset and evolutions of best practices.
Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Experience in delivering business growth through effective strategic leadership and operational management in a medium-sized, multi-stakeholder organisation
  • Proven track record in financial management and budget oversight with experience in commercial bid and tender processes
  • Demonstrated success in leading organisational change and process improvement
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Excellent people and service management skills with expertise in customer service management and help desk operations
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a customer-first approach. Track record of successful business growth and client retention with strong presentation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build, develop and lead high-performing teams
Favorable Experience
  • Experience in the schools and MAT market.
  • Experience of delivering consulting and support services to schools and multi-academy trusts
  • Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and public sector pension schemes, especially the education sector
  • Experience with payroll software and services
  • Knowledge of current issues affecting the education sector and relevant government policies

Estimated annual salary range: £60,000 - £90,000, depending on experience.
