Job Overview


We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Assessor to join our team in delivering the clinical assessment service for the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing applicants’ conditions and determining their percentage disablement.



About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ post-registration experience as a nurse or allied health professional with expertise in mental health or psychiatric backgrounds. You will be fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with NISCC and based in Northern Ireland.



Responsibilities

  • Meet face-to-face with applicants to assess their condition and determine their percentage disablement;
  • Analyze and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence to support your assessment and subsequent structured, evidence-based report for the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the Victims Payment Board (VPB);
  • Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, a full justification, and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the Victims Payment Board (VPB) in their decision-making.


Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years' post-registration experience with AYE & PIP qualifications completed;
  • Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with NISCC;
  • Must be based in Northern Ireland;
  • A demonstrable background in a Mental Health / Psychiatric speciality;
  • Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales.
  • Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures;
  • Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems.


What We Offer


As a Clinical Assessor with us, you can expect a competitive basic salary of £38,500 per year, rising to £41,400 with career progression opportunities. You will also receive:



  • Initial 6 weeks' training and ongoing support;
  • Flexible work patterns allowing you to work between 8am and 8pm, with 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week;
  • Hybrid working arrangements, predominantly working from home with clinic visits required;
  • 23 days' holiday plus additional benefits.
