Interim Finance Manager Opportunity

Trial Balance Consulting has been exclusively assigned by a long-standing client seeking an interim Finance Manager for a unique and highly successful listed services business in the Cornish community. The company is experiencing exponential growth, and the role is offered on a full-time, interim basis with a duration of 3-6 months.

Reporting to a highly experienced CFO and working closely with the COO and the SMT, this is a pivotal assignment that will see the successful candidate managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the finance function. The role has a broad scope and the Finance Manager will lead various responsibilities in all aspects of finance and some facilities:

  1. Oversee transactional duties performed by an Accounts Assistant
  2. Variance analysis and internal management reporting
  3. Preparation of management accounts
  4. Cashflow projections
  5. Ensure statutory VAT reporting compliance
  6. Assist the CFO with technical accounting support
  7. Assist with year and quarter end statements
  8. Work with external auditors
  9. Review accuracy of the outsourced payroll function
  10. Work closely with the company's IT service providers

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of general finance experience, preferably with a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA. A strong aptitude for modern accounting and general IT platforms (Sage/MS Office etc.) is required. The post holder will work closely with an experienced senior management team, external auditors, banks, and external shareholders, so great communication skills are essential. This role blends commercial awareness with strategic duties, requiring a 'let's solve this' attitude to fit in with the existing team.
