We are currently seeking a talented Shift Vehicle Electrician to join our team at our Sheffield depot. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of vehicles.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent, with proven experience in diagnosing vehicle faults and specifying repair methods. You will also be fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, and multiplex wiring systems.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Diagnosing vehicle faults and specifying the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
  • Carrying out vehicle servicing.
  • Be fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems.
  • Be fully familiar with all relevant diagnostic equipment, including multi-meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, vernier gauges, and E.C.U. diagnostic computer equipment.

About you

  • Do you possess a minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent?
  • You must be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems.
  • You must be in the possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV licence and forklift truck licence if required.
