Job Title: Deputy Planning Team Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Planning Team Leader to join our Transport Planning team in Havering. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of regeneration across the borough, ensuring growth is delivered in line with the Havering Local Plan and the borough's Transport Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

* Delivering transport planning projects and providing policy input into strategic infrastructure projects being delivered across Havering
* Providing strategic direction and support to members of the transport planning team, supporting delivery of the Council's highly regarded behaviour change programmes
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of the Council's aspirations and ambitions, including the emerging Active Travel and Electric Vehicle Charging Point strategies
* Deputising for the Team Leader, setting the tactical direction for the transport planning team and monitoring performance delivery to achieve both corporate and departmental aims

Requirements:

* Strong transport/spatial planning skills
* Experience dealing with Members
* Politically astute
* Several years of experience working in the transport planning industry
* Comprehensive understanding of planning and local government legislation
