Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

Orion is partnering with an innovative manufacturing business in Northampton to recruit a self-sufficient, confident, and diligent Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work as the Night Shift Maintenance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform reactive maintenance on medium and heavy plant machinery, including conveyors, weaving machines, rollers, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and relays.
  • Utilize PLCs for fault finding and work from electrical schematics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement solutions to reduce downtime in line with the engineering strategy.
  • Work confidently on the night shift and utilize root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons behind problems and failures.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to set up machines and provide a first-class engineering service.
Required Experience:
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Electrical qualifications from a recognized body.
  • NVQ level 3 or BTEC L3 or equivalent.
  • Electrical fault-finding skills and experience with PLCs.
  • Machinery maintenance experience, including PPMs and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
