We are seeking a dedicated Geography Department Lead to join our team at an exceptional secondary school in London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the subject area.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching geography and experience of initiating and effective management of change. They will be accountable for raising standards of student attainment and achievement within the whole subject/curriculum area.
Key Responsibilities- To lead and manage the department, ensuring the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the department.
- To teach the relevant subject across the age and ability range, facilitating and encouraging a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- To effectively manage and deploy staff, financial and physical resources within the department.
The ideal candidate will hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, ideally with management training. They should demonstrate successful teaching of GCSE at good or better level and have experience of initiation and effective management of change.
