Role Summary

As a Nurse Specialist at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, you will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Medical and Nursing teams to provide expert advice and support for speciality patients within the Trust.

You will develop and sustain partnership working with individual groups, communities, and agencies, facilitating the planning and delivery of care programmes to address patient needs and develop/improve the service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated individual to join the Nursing Leadership team in the Intensive Care Unit. The Unit is a busy adult ICU with a high volume of admissions, including emergency and elective work, and paediatric admissions.

The successful applicant will join the Senior Nursing team and contribute to the day-to-day running of the unit, providing expert care to patients requiring interventional therapies to manage critical illness.

They will also be required to liaise with the multi-professional team and other services/departments within the Trust to promote good working relationships and take an active role in ICU development and education programmes.

The applicant will need to have a sound knowledge of all aspects of adult critical care and training in paediatric critical care, as well as current experience of managing a busy ICU on a day-to-day basis.

Working Pattern: Long days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
