Information Governance Role in Leeds

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Governance professional to join a pioneering data management team in Leeds. The team is working for a large pan-European group with ambitious plans for their data.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the implementation of the Information Management (IM) Framework across the organisation, working closely with the Lead Information Manager to embed the framework and ensure effective adoption of the IM Key principles. This is a greenfield project, offering a unique chance to make a significant impact and contribute to the growth and development of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the development and maintenance of governance documents, ensuring they remain up-to-date and relevant to the IM Framework.
  2. Support the Lead Information Manager in embedding the IM Framework across the organisation, working with departments to promote and embed the framework and key principles.
  3. Coordinate the IM team's efforts to provide assistance and support to departments, ensuring effective adoption of the IM Framework and key principles.
  4. Work with the Information Governance Champions to coordinate their efforts and provide support as needed.
  5. Contribute to the maintenance of information-related risks, ensuring they are identified and mitigated.
  6. Investigate data problems and work to resolve them, ensuring effective data quality measures are in place.
  7. Review and improve IM reporting mechanisms to ensure they remain robust and effective.
Required Experience
  1. Proven experience working with governance frameworks and governance documents.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of relevant information management and data protection legislation.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, commercially orientated environment.
  5. Proven ability to engage successfully with cross-functional stakeholders.
  6. Knowledge and understanding of information management and security principles.
  7. Experience working within an information governance team.
  8. Strong analysis and design skills.
  9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
