Job Summary
The Moray Council is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join the ICT Infrastructure Team as ICT Support Specialists. The team provides technical support to all service departments across the Council, supporting over 90 remote sites, including schools and other council facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of ICT systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the Council and are delivered efficiently.
- Support service delivery in relation to infrastructure, operation, and user support, troubleshooting technical issues and researching solutions.
- Contribute to strategy and planning initiatives, providing technical expertise and input on ICT-related matters.
- Manage and administer ICT contracts, projects, and resources, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to council policies.
- Adopt and promote council policies, ensuring compliance and best practices in ICT operations.
- Perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the ICT Infrastructure Team.
Requirements
- Experience in a computer-related environment, with a strong understanding of hardware and software systems.
- Higher Computing or computer-related short courses, demonstrating a solid foundation in technical skills.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor own work within short time horizons, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Rational and organized approach to work, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
- Understanding and use of appropriate methods, tools, and applications, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
- Ability to absorb and process technical information, analyzing complex data and making informed decisions.
- Ability to communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to transport items of computer equipment, adhering to health and safety requirements.
