Chief of Radiology Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief of Radiology to lead our radiology department and drive excellence in patient care, innovation, and team collaboration at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Broadway. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for formulating and implementing effective strategies and policies that focus on cost-effective healthcare services, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the overall day-to-day clinical operations of the departments with oversight of all clinical and non-clinical staff and is accountable for operational excellence and delivery of quality services.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the radiology department, setting strategic goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with senior management to align radiology services with the overall healthcare facility's mission and goals.
  • Oversee and participate in the interpretation of radiological images, ensuring accurate diagnoses and timely reporting. Stay updated with advancements in radiology technology, techniques, and research to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines for radiology services. Develop and implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve the accuracy and reliability of radiological interpretations.
  • Collaborate with other clinical departments to facilitate interdisciplinary patient care and consultation. Communicate effectively with referring physicians and healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient management.
  • Participate in internal/external quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) activities and programs, training, and relevant healthcare events, as required.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • Board certification in Radiology
  • Active medical license and eligibility for medical practice in the state
  • Proven experience as a radiologist with a track record of clinical excellence
  • Previous leadership or administrative experience within a healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of radiology technology, techniques, and best practices
