About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiopharmacy Technical Officer to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Radiopharmacy team, you will be responsible for the aseptic preparation of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake technical duties in the aseptic preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, including pre-manufacturing preparation and final product checking.
  • Specialist cleaning of aseptic production facilities and clinical areas used for radionuclide therapies.
  • Organisation of consumable items and performance of radiopharmaceutical quality control tests.
  • Working safely with radioactive materials.

Requirements

  • Vocational Qualification Level 3 or equivalent, plus additional theoretical or applied training in a specific discipline.
  • GSCE or AS Level or A Level in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Previous experience of working within a technical or laboratory service to GMP or GLP guidelines.

Desirable

  • Statutory registration/professional chartered status with a relevant professional body.
  • Experience of Radiopharmacy and/or sterile/non-sterile manufacture.

Working Hours

The post requires the ability to work between the hours of 05:00 and 17:00, with occasional changes at short notice to meet the needs of the service.
