Job Description

The Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a skilled Community Finance Officer to join their team in Barrow. As a key member of the Community Finance Team, you will be responsible for conducting legally compliant financial assessments for clients eligible for non-residential and residential services.

You will work closely with other services internally and externally to ensure fair and equitable assessments while maximising income for the individual and the Council. The successful candidate will possess good problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and meet tight deadlines.

In addition to your financial expertise, you should have experience working in a customer-focused environment, demonstrating patience and understanding. You will also need to show that you can deal appropriately with issues of a financial nature, in line with legislation and policy.
