About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Systems Specialist to join our team at Elsevier Limited Company. This role will involve supporting the modernization or replacement of existing data systems and creating new systems to accommodate new product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data prototypes and proof-of-concepts, ensuring well-documented designs.
  • Inform and support team leadership decisions, enabling accurate sizing and dependency mapping activities.
  • Support junior developers through best practice implementation, engaging in regular collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and design integration tools, adhering to relevant best practices, particularly regarding security.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders to resolve issues, being self-motivated and able to work with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with data analysis, including PostgreSQL and SQL.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with AWS data warehousing knowledge.
  • Ability to conceptually and practically model data structures, as well as design effective entity relationships.
  • Experience with changing needs within the organization, rapidly evolving priorities, and mitigating impacts.
