Design Engineer for Mechanical Innovations

As a highly skilled Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of innovative mechanical solutions at Smarter Alloys. With a focus on thermomechanical systems, your primary goal is to design, build, and test mechanical components that meet our high standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in powertrain design, structural design, and mechanical power transmission. You will be responsible for developing and executing verification and validation activities, including test plans and equipment setup. Additionally, you will support procurement and commissioning of automation, mechanical, and manufacturing equipment for rapid prototyping and production.

This is a full-time, permanent position working in a state-of-the-art facility with a flexible work schedule (40 hrs/week) and core hours between 10:00am – 3:30pm.   • Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of related product development/manufacturing experience in a mechanical design role
  • Experience in structural design, powertrain design, mechanical power transmission, and related design for manufacturing & assembly
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D design tools such as AutoDesk suite, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of thermomechanical FEA and experience using FEA software (Inventor FEA/Nastran, Comsol or Ansys etc.)
