Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer to join our dynamic legal services team at Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a busy and growing adults team, providing expert advice on complex adult social care cases, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directly line manage a team of lawyers and legal assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Assist the team with complex adult social care cases, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Deal with case allocation, ensuring that cases are properly managed and that deadlines are met.
  • Deal with 1:1s and HR issues relating to the team, providing support and guidance to ensure that team members are able to perform their roles effectively.
  • Lead on the improvement of the team, developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the team is operating efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Barrister with a good understanding of adult social care law. Previous management experience is not essential, but you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
