Job SummaryThe successful candidate will rotate through all cross-sectional areas, working with patients from various sources, including emergencies, inpatients, and outpatients. They will participate in the 7-day extended day and out-of-hours rotas, providing a high standard 24-hour emergency service. The post includes an orientation to plain film, theatres, mobiles, and RACH to ensure a comprehensive range of skills.
Main Responsibilities- As a core member of the Cross-sectional imaging team, the Radiographer will work across all relevant departments on the Royal Sussex County Hospital site and achieve competence in other areas required for the emergency OOH service.
- The Radiographer will undertake a wide range of clinical duties to provide a high-quality imaging service and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, promoting excellence in patient care.
- To ensure the department delivers an exemplary service and experience to patients and members of the public, adhering to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2017 and Trust policies.
- Actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, supervising newly qualified and junior staff, assistant practitioners, and student Radiographers, supporting the Superintendent Radiographers in ensuring smooth departmental coordination.
- To participate in the extended working day, weekend, and night rotas, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
- HCPC registration
- Clinical Radiography experience in an NHS setting
- Evidence of extensive experience in CT, MRI, mobiles, theatre, plain film, and paediatric radiography
- Awareness of IR(ME)R 2017, IRR 2017, Health and Safety regulations, and equalities issues
This role offers a competitive salary of £37,338 to £44,962 per annum pro rata, reflecting the expertise and commitment required for this position. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in weekend shifts and the extended day and out-of-hours rotas, ensuring a seamless delivery of services.
