This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing psychological input into Probation teams and Approved Premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting psychological consultations, developing and delivering training, and supervising other psychologists.
Main Responsibilities- Provide psychological consultations to Offender Managers/Probation Practitioners, Approved Premises staff, and other professionals working with individuals on probation.
- Work closely with the Enhanced Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service to identify individuals on probation who are eligible for direct psychosocial interventions and psychological therapy.
- Conduct joint work sessions with individuals on probation and OM/PPs to deliver brief interventions, demonstrate techniques, or explore unusual presentations.
- Develop and deliver training and reflective practice for Probation teams and Approved Premises staff.
- Supervise other psychologists working within the geographical area.
This post is based within the Forensic Mental Health Psychology team, which provides a unique learning opportunity. The team meets monthly for business meetings, CPD groups, and reflective practice. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse and supportive team that values collaboration and co-production.
Requirements- Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate professional training course in applied psychology.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience of working with a wide range of client groups, including those with complex presenting problems.
- Experience of teaching, training, and supervision.
