Job Overview

Kier Group is seeking a seasoned MEP Project Manager to join our internal MEP self-delivery business in the southern region. Our M&E team collaborates closely with the Kier Build team to deliver comprehensive M&E solutions across projects in various sectors.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director and oversee two new projects in our Southern Region. Initially, the role will be based in Basingstoke for pre-construction, and then transition to a site-based presence when we ramp up for delivery. Both projects are located in the Hampshire region on the South Coast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project delivery from initial bid stage to completion, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Meet company objectives post-contract, driving business growth and excellence.
  • Contribute to pre-contract requirements, focusing on customer satisfaction and business development.
  • Report on project performance and finance to the Operations Director, providing actionable insights.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring effective risk management and minimizing potential impacts.
  • Manage procurement and delivery of subcontractor and supplier packages, fostering strong relationships and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality management procedures by the supply chain, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Oversee the MEP delivery team, including QA, design, procurement, commercial, installation, commissioning, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Implement and comply with Kier's SHE policy, procedures, legal requirements, and best practices, prioritizing employee safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Previous project management experience within the construction industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • A sound knowledge and technical understanding of MEP systems, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Commercially and contractually aware, with expertise in contract management and negotiation.
  • The ability to lead a team and drive a project forward, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
