Job Title: Mechanical Service Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Technician to join our team at The Selection Partnership Ltd. As a Mechanical Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical power presses on site at customers' works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and repairing mechanical power presses
  • Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues
  • Working on power presses from 1 ton to 1000 tons capacity
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical and friction clutch and brake units
  • Good mechanical understanding of presses, including clearances, setting slides, stripping, rebuilding, and setting clutches/brakes

Requirements:

  • Full clean driving licence
  • Own tools
  • Van provided
  • Tool allowance
  • Mobile phone allowance
  • Ability to travel and work nationwide, sometimes working away and staying overnight
  • Filling in own paperwork, service sheets, and time sheets
  • PCN level 2 in NDT crack detection advantageous

Salary and Benefits:

£18.14 per hour (for fully qualified power press engineer)

Work Location:

Based out of our premises in Birmingham and travelling to customer premises

The client is unable to provide VISA sponsorship, and therefore cannot employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
