About the Role

The Cover Manager will be responsible for providing effective and efficient arrangements for cover across the school. This will involve completing administration for cover and liaising with external agencies, Principals PA, and teaching staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the cover absence line and emails each morning to ensure timely and accurate information.
  • Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Principal, and Principals PA to discuss long-term absence and planned trips, courses, and medical appointments.
  • Collaborate with agencies to secure cover support and ensure a smooth transition for students.
  • Create and manage the daily rota for cover within the school, ensuring that all necessary information is provided to supply staff.
  • Provide daily briefings, lesson details, and class information to supply teachers to ensure a seamless learning experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting, with a strong understanding of school operations and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Depth knowledge of the secondary school curriculum and educational environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and school management software.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of cover supervisors and supply teachers.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
