**Job Title:** Retail Compliance Manager - Health and Safety Expert

**Salary:** £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety expert to join our team as a Retail Compliance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our retail supermarkets in the North West region, driving food safety, trading standards, and health and safety compliance.

As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and legal management service to our stores, supporting logistics operations when required. You will also attend regional and store meetings, building engagement with senior teams and sharing data trends to agree suitable solutions.

You will manage and coordinate activities where serious safety or legality concerns have been identified, working with stores and sites to demonstrably improve standards. Additionally, you will work with stakeholders to manage enforcement activity, arrange necessary support, disseminate information, and liaise with enforcement officers to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

This role requires a strong partnership approach to coach Regional Managers, Store/Site Managers, and colleagues in required safe and legal standards/general good practice. You will build strong relationships with retail management teams to be recognized as the main point of contact for all technical queries.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in health and safety, preferably with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. You should have knowledge of trading standards, health and safety, and food safety legislation, as well as lead assessor qualification/auditing experience in one or more safe and legal disciplines.

A typical week in this role involves visiting 1-2 stores a day, supporting improvement plans, attending meetings, conducting audits, upskilling/coaching colleagues and managers, and taking calls and responding to emails throughout the week.
