Job Title: Complex Needs Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Complex Needs Assistant to support pupils with complex learning needs in a primary school setting. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children and a degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs and help students understand instructions.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning and support plans.
  • Support children during social activities and outings.
  • Encourage communication and look after their physical needs.
  • Work alongside the teacher and SEN team to create a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and provide learning materials.

  • Impose patience and understanding.
  • Have an understanding of challenging behavior.
  • Be adaptable in any situation.
  • Develop strong and positive relationships with children.
  • Commit to working as part of a team.
