As an Area Manager at Amazon UK Services Ltd., you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures the efficient and safe operation of our facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safety and Wellbeing: Create and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing across the team.
  • Quality and Productivity: Analyse and implement changes to maintain high-quality and productivity levels.
  • Process Improvement: Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity, and increase quality of service for customers.
  • Shift Performance: Analyse shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices.

A day in the life of an Area Manager will be varied, involving routine team management, daily operational responsibilities, process improvement, and operational contingency tasks.

You will also be a role model and mentor to new managers, driving a culture of safety and wellbeing, and upholding quality and shift performance standards.

About the team:

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is responsible for the management of heavy items, including furniture and large home appliances. Our team provides a comprehensive service, from supply chain fulfilment to delivery and returns, with a focus on safety, productivity, and innovation.

We deliver large items, unpack and assemble them, and take away old items where necessary. Our team is made up of people from operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and programme management, working together to grow this part of the business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people management
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • Experience working in another logistics environment
  • Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
