Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Cardiology Consultant to join our team at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the paediatric service, delivering outpatient and inpatient care at the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust.

The post holder will actively participate with the existing team in developing a comprehensive integrated paediatric cardiology service incorporating the Congenital Heart Disease Standards and Service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the provision of high-quality medical care for congenital cardiac patients requiring both acute and routine care.
  • Support link nurses in their clinical practice and professional development.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the cardiology outpatient clinics.
  • Have general paediatric commitment for both outpatient and inpatient care in keeping with the 'Facing the Future' standards of care, set out by RCPCH.
  • Contribute to out-of-hours on-call rota, including weekends.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCPCH by examination or appropriate specialist qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of receipt of Certification of Completion Training (CCT) at the time of interview
  • Successful completion of RCPCH SPIN module in cardiology or equivalent specialist experience
  • MD or other post-graduate qualification relevant to this post
  • Certification in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography (EACVI)
