Job Title: PCB Design Engineer

About the Role:

Mansell Recruitment Group Plc is seeking a skilled PCB Design Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for designing PCB layouts, electrical schematics, and electrical diagrams, as well as assisting in mechanical design and supporting Manufacturing Engineering.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Design PCB layouts for high voltage power supplies and control electronics.
  2. Enter schematics from design engineering sketches.
  3. Create and modify 3D models and assemblies, including piece part information.
  4. Generate and maintain part information and bills of materials.
  5. Maintain the PCB library.
  6. Maintain the DCC drawing system.
  7. Produce system schematics, wiring diagrams, and schedules.
  8. Ensure adherence to the Company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and Health and Safety management systems.
  9. Support ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental requirements and improvement activities.
  10. Provide reliable and quantifiable estimated labour times for assembling new products.
  11. Contribute to specifying process consumables used throughout the company.
  12. Implement effective configuration and data management processes.
  13. Specify and procure necessary tooling requirements.
  14. Offer support to production staff as needed.
  15. Identify and eliminate waste in all engineering processes.

Requirements:

A HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline is required. Proven expertise and experience in PCB design (preferably to IPC Standard) and mechanical design with knowledge of analogue, digital, and surface mount technologies is essential. Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office is also required. Proficiency in CAD packages for PCB and mechanical design, particularly Cadstar, eCadstar, Board Modeller, Inventor, and AutoCAD, is a distinct advantage.
