The Role

As an IT Principal Engineer at QinetiQ, you will have a unique opportunity to lead the technical direction of our Digital Enterprise Services Product Team. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing high-quality services to our customers, and you will play a key role in the development and implementation of novel IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of standards for our platforms and services
  • Design and maintain system security, applying an automated approach whenever possible
  • Act as the lead engineer for systems and services, taking accountability for service cost, value, availability, lifecycle, and roadmaps
  • Provide technical leadership and act as a principal source of technical knowledge and expertise
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to ensure compliance with configuration control requirements

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Cloud services in an enterprise-level IT environment, including M365, Azure, and Identity and Information Security
  • Ability to work in and lead Scrum teams in an agile environment, engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed IT systems
  • Extensive experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Bicep, PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, Json, ADO, DSC, Confluence, and code repositories

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or equivalent) or relevant technical experience
