About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Principal Engineer to join our Digital Enterprise Services Product Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise to support the development and implementation of novel IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of standards for the platforms and services we use.
  • Design and maintain system security, applying an approach of automate first when developing, implementing or supporting IT solutions.
  • Act as the lead engineer for systems and services, taking accountability for service cost, value, availability, lifecycle and the development of suitable roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and act as a principal source of technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Liaise with vendors that provide widely used enterprise software and small development teams within the business, complying with configuration control requirements.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Cloud services within an enterprise level IT environment, such as M365, Azure and Identity and Information Security.
  • The ability to work in and lead Scrum teams in an agile environment and engage with cross-section stakeholders of both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience designing, building and operating large scale distributed IT systems.
  • Extensive experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Bicep, PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, Json, ADO, DSC, Confluence and code repos.

Qualifications

  • A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) or relevant technical experience.
