Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Interim Public Affairs Manager. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of people living and working in the borough.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing public affairs expertise to the leader and cabinet members, building relationships with key stakeholders, and enabling our newly elected councillors to hone their skills in public affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop stakeholder maps and track opportunities for influence and communication
  • Provide specialist advice to senior politicians and officers
  • Grow our network of influence and coordinate communications activity
  • Work closely with the Communications team and other key council officers
  • Build relationships with key government and partner organisations

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a background in public sector communications, experience in giving specialist advice to senior politicians, and a proven track record of building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
