Job Title: Interim Public Affairs Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Public Affairs Specialist to join our team at Basildon Borough Council. As a key member of our leadership office, you will provide public affairs expertise to our leader and cabinet members, helping us navigate the corridors of influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable stakeholder relations and coach Members and officers
- Grow our network of influence and coordinate a detailed forward plan of communications activity
- Develop stakeholder maps and track opportunities for us to influence and make our voice heard with key government and partner organisations
Requirements:
- Experience in the public sector, with a background giving specialist advice to senior politicians
- Ability to navigate party political environments and build relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong communication and coaching skills
