About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Universal Business Team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial processes and helping our company scale effectively.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial expertise, leadership skills, and experience working with Xero. Key responsibilities include:

  • Xero expertise: Managing the purchase ledger, sales ledger, payments, and invoicing
  • Financial reporting: Producing monthly management accounts and weekly metrics for the management team
  • Bank reconciliations: Reconciling multiple accounts, including current, savings, and credit cards
  • Payment management: Managing mid-month and end-of-month purchase ledger payments, BACS payments, and credit card payment processes
  • Credit control: Managing debt chasing, credit checks, and retention processing
  • HMSRC compliance: Preparing and posting PAYE journal entries, managing monthly payments to HMRC, and managing the relationship with the external payroll provider
