About the Role

Pick Everard is seeking a skilled Senior Principal Designer to join our Health and Safety Team in Bristol. This role has been introduced to align with Building Safety requirements and recognize the importance of the Principal Designer position.

As a leading national consultancy, we aim to deliver excellence for our clients across various sectors, including education, healthcare, blue light, commercial, residential, defence, and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will manage design safety, coordinate design risks, and lead the design team to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Blending technical requirements with leadership skills to influence the design and contribute to the project team.
  • Supporting clients in the collation of pre-construction information and providing H&S advice.
  • Leading the design team in designing out risks and taking the lead in reporting to the client.
  • Engaging with the contractor to coordinate design information and manage any changes to the design.
  • Reporting any matters that fall under the mandatory occurrence reporting and liaising with Building Control Authorities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum level L5 or working towards/obtained a Design/Construction Degree, NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Diploma, or NVQ L5.
  • 3+ years of experience in delivering construction projects.
  • Sector-specific knowledge within 3 or more sectors.
