Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our purchasing strategy, reviewing stock profiles, and monitoring inventory trends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing a purchasing strategy to meet business objectives
  • Reviewing and analysing stock profiles to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitoring and forecasting inventory trends to ensure optimal stock levels
  • Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations
  • Networking with the supply chain to maximise pricing strategies and agreements
  • Ensuring on-time delivery from suppliers and monitoring supply chain performance
  • Managing inventory, including storage, locations, transactions, and bills of materials
  • Implementing and maintaining a perpetual stock take programme
  • Completing transactions in accordance with procedures
  • Maintaining agreed inventory levels and recommending adjustments
Requirements
  • CIPS qualification or a demonstration of experience within the procurement field
  • Ideally, a background in engineering with a service and manufacturing profile
  • Ability to inspire confidence in customers and suppliers
  • Commercial ability to maximise financial returns
  • High level of competency in the use of IT systems
  • Understanding of stock management systems and financial controls
Desirable
  • Experience working in a similar purchasing role
  • Knowledge of engineering components and their supply chains
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems
