This vital role requires strategic leadership and vision to drive scientific excellence and impact within the Science Area and across the organisation. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic direction and oversight for the Science Area, ensuring high-quality scientific output and effective collaboration with other areas.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and integration across different scientific disciplines and stakeholder groups.
- Leading and managing a team of 80-100 people, fostering a positive and inclusive research culture that promotes excellence and well-being.
- Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety management within the Science Area.
- Developing Business Plans that align with organisational goals, including resource allocation and financial targets.
- Evaluating project delivery, financial management, and performance within the Science Area, making informed decisions on future directions.
