**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Principal Town Planner to join our team at AECOM.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a top ten UK planning consultancy, employing over 70 Chartered or Licentiate Planners. Our team is involved in major infrastructure projects, including lead roles in the consenting and delivery of projects through various consenting regimes.

As a Principal Town Planner, you will be responsible for leading and assisting in the successful delivery of major development applications. This will include coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across various project types, providing planning advice to colleagues and clients, and leading on the production of planning feasibility reports and consent strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading planning applications, including infrastructure development
  • Providing planning advice and guidance
  • Producing planning feasibility reports and consent strategies
  • Writing Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements
  • Managing planning applications and liaison with local planning authorities
  • Working closely with the Environmental Impact Assessment team

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of English planning policy and legislation
  • Experience of leading planning applications and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong planning skills and knowledge of planning policy and legislation
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
