About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Radiopharmacy team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. As a Radiopharmacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in the preparation and quality control of radioactive medicines for patients undergoing Nuclear Medicine scans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a clean room environment, using aseptic technique to prepare medicines containing small amounts of radioactivity.
  • Perform quality control tests on manufactured medicines using laboratory instruments.
  • Procure medicines and materials used in manufacture.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with a strong scientific background, preferably in a life sciences degree such as physics, chemistry, biochemistry, or biomedical science. Pharmacy technician applicants should have a Higher National Certificate qualification or equivalent experience. Knowledge and experience in Radiopharmacy and handling hazardous materials are beneficial but not essential.
