Job Summary:

MDS is seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting cutting-edge systems in gas turbine engine test facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot systems in Gas Turbine engine test facilities.
  • Handle the day-to-day requirements of the customer with respect to the supplied system, track ongoing problems and provide feedback to the customer and design authorities.
  • Design, implement and use tools and systems to monitor the system performance and reliability.
  • Perform system troubleshooting for software at the application level and hardware to assembly level.
  • Perform required system calibration and hardware maintenance.
  • Ensure traceability of the hardware inventory and hardware configuration control.
  • Provide feedback to the hardware and software design departments regarding features of current and proposed systems.
  • Continually monitor the support process and suggest/implement improvements wherever possible.
  • Maintain and manage critical spares for all system hardware.
  • Suggest preventative actions, create workarounds and provide solutions to system problems.
  • Suggest improvements to products, processes and environmental aspects.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation related to the measurement of numerous parameters such as temperature, pressure, frequency, strain, vibration and flow.
  • Will be willing and able to work as a team member on 24/7 shift pattern.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 9+ years experience working with electronics, instrumentation and/or control systems.
  • Understanding of the principles of calibration & measurement systems.
  • Working knowledge of Data acquisition systems.
  • Engineering degree/HND in Engineering or relevant experience considered.
