About the Role:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN to join our team and help us deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients based on the nursing process, hospital standards, and policies and procedures.
  • Orient patients and family members to the surrounding environment and act as a patient advocate.
  • Collect patient assessment data and notify the RN of potential problems.
  • Evaluate patient response to care and report findings to the RN, document delivery of patient care, and effectively respond to emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, meet patient educational needs, and serve as a role model to other members of the patient care team.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Program required.
  • Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
