We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Manager to lead our team of volunteers in Castleford, West Yorkshire. As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our charity shop, ensuring it is presented to the highest standards and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards, including Health and Safety and Trading Standards.
- Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays.
- Recruit, train, and engage a team of volunteers to create a welcoming and happy environment.
- Have line manager responsibility for assistant manager, working together to ensure there is management cover and sufficient volunteers to operate all trading hours.
- Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets, including items donated and money received.
- Prepare and complete all shop administration, including cash handling and banking functions, to the highest standard.
- Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience of managing people/volunteers, including recruitment and development.
- Previous retail experience in the charity sector or commercial sector.
- Experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment.
- Highly organized with good time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability or willingness to travel occasionally across the Yorkshire region for training and team meetings.
