Job Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of workshop equipment and learn how to service our pumps by carrying out checks and maintenance.
  • Learn how to repair and replace faulty parts, applying safe systems of working including electrical safety testing.
  • Apply proven techniques and procedures to solve engineering/manufacturing problems.

Training and Development

  • Leybold and our training provider, East Surrey College, will collaborate to ensure that you receive continuous training and development throughout your apprenticeship.
  • During your first year, you'll spend 3 days a week at East Surrey College learning engineering principles, and this will reduce to 1 day in year 2.
  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you'll obtain a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Engineering.

Career Progression

  • Upon successful completion of this scheme, you could be offered a Service Engineer role with our in-house team in Chessington, with the potential to move out into the field or within the wider Atlas Copco Group.
  • You could also be offered further training to expand your learning.

What We're Looking For

  • 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English, and a Science.
  • A passion for engineering.
  • A strong interest in learning and growing as a service engineer.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Takes pride in their work and has a keen eye for detail.
