Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced medical leader to join our team as Deputy Medical Director. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and staff satisfaction.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will work closely with the Medical Director to provide senior clinical leadership and support the delivery of quality care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deputising for the Medical Director
  • Leading professional portfolio responsibilities, including Quality and Safety, Learning from Deaths, Medicines Management, Risk and Assurance, and Clinical Effectiveness
  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise to support the delivery of quality care
  • Working collaboratively with other Deputies and stakeholders to achieve shared goals

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Senior substantive clinical leadership experience, with at least 5 years' experience post CCT or equivalent
  • Full registration with the GMC, without any conditions or restrictions on licence to practise
  • Evidence of participation in annual appraisal and CPD
  • Desirable: Masters degree or equivalent in clinical leadership, formal management qualification, and membership of FMLM
