**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BSL Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded deaf school in Northfield, Birmingham.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support the teaching and learning of deaf students, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging learning environment.
  • Use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with students, helping them understand lessons and instructions.
  • Assist in both classroom and extracurricular activities, promoting an inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver differentiated support that meets individual learning needs.
  • Help create a safe and supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves and participate fully.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and external professionals to support holistic student development.

**Requirements:**

  • British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification or above (essential).
  • Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing children and young people in an educational setting.
  • A passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
